Laszlo Gulis was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1960. Graduated from the Academy of Fine and Applied Arts. Then he continued his studies (between 1983 and 1987) at the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1987 he became a member of the National Society of Hungarian Artists. After training and numerous experiments, Laszlo developed his own individual world of images and technique, somewhat reminiscent of the early works of world art masters who wrote under the influence of Rembrandt.[full-width] [wide]
Nevertheless, there is much in his paintings that makes the canvases he created different from the paintings of his contemporaries. He is fascinated by the legacy of the Renaissance, paintings dedicated to the struggle between life and death. In his works he uses the contrasting effect of light and shadow, brilliantly manipulating it. In addition, the pure colors of his paintings look simply wonderful.
